Charles H. Sykes, M.D.

Dr. Sykes is a highly skilled, board-certified, and fellowship-trained radiologist who has been a member of Roswell Radiology Associates since 1993. He received his B.A. in History and Philosophy of Science concentrating in medical ethics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983, M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1988, and completed his radiology residency at the University of Florida in 1992.  He subsequently completed a one year body imaging fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center, which also included additional neuro and interventional training in 1993. 

Dr Sykes’ interest in radiology dates back to high school at which time he built an award winning x-ray machine.  Since then he has received many academic and professional awards including serving as chief radiology resident and recently as chairman of the North Fulton Regional Hospital Department of Radiology. 

The opportunity to blend the latest technology with outstanding patient care led Dr. Sykes to his career.  He is an excellent interventional radiologist who performs many state of the art procedures such as uterine artery embolization.  The diagnosis of breast cancer, and women’s imaging in general, are of primary focus.  Trauma and other oncologic radiology are of particular interest as well.  He has served as a  medical consultant to several medical informatics companies seeking to improve imaging technology.

In order to maintain these high standards Dr. Sykes pursues extensive continuing medical education including participation in many national and international imaging and intervention conferences.  He holds membership in the American College of Radiology, Georgia Radiology Society, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Radiological Society of North America
