Billing, Insurance and Pre-certification

Filing insurance
As a courtesy, we file claims directly to our patients' insurance plans if complete and valid information is provided to North Fulton Regional Hospital or our other locations' registration staff. If you have questions after receiving either a statement from us or an explanation of benefits (EOB) from your plan, please contact us at the phone number or address above.
RRA participates with most major plans' networks for which your benefits will be processed as "In-Network." If you have questions about out-of-network or self-pay payment arrangements, do not hesitate to contact us.

Pre-certifications
When you schedule your procedure, our staff and radiologists will assist you and your referring physician's office in pre-certifying services with your health plan. In most cases this can be done prior to your visit if your referring physician provides adequate clinical documentation to complete this process. Although we will do all that we can to complete a pre-cert, ultimately, the responsibility for pre-certification and payment lie with you and your plan. If you are not sure of the status of your pre-cert, please contact your plan.
Although the plans certify the need for services, they will not generally guarantee payment at the time of pre-certification. If your plan denies payment for your services, you will receive a bill from us. If you feel the service should have been covered, contact your plan and question the Explanation of Benefits that the plan likely sent to you. If you appeal the denial, be sure to keep us informed of the status and let us know if your plan has requested that we resubmit the claim or if we need to provide them further clinical documentation for you. We are happy to assist you in this manner.

Past-due accounts
If your account is significantly past due and we have not heard from you regarding satisfactory payment arrangements, RRA may turn your account over to a collection agency that will contact you directly by mail and phone. If your account is with a collection agency, please deal directly with that firm, using phone numbers and addresses found on the written correspondence from them.
